Taxonomy notes

split from M. murina and includes quichua; the name macrotarsus may be preoccupied by Didelphis macrotarsus J. F. Gmelin, 1788, a synonym of Tarsius tarsier, in which case quichua would be the oldest name available; further clarification is needed on the matter however, and the name tentatively retained as Marmosa macrotarsus
