Taxonomy notes
tentatively includes parnabyi and fasensis, which have been recognized as distinct species; has been included under Doryrhina based on suspected close relationship to Doryrhina cyclops, but this relationship has not been examined using molecular data at this point and it is retained under Hipposideros here for the time being
